London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) was a globally used benchmark interest rate that represented the average rate at which major global banks lent to each other in the short-term unsecured interbank market. It was quoted in five currencies (USD, GBP, EUR, JPY, CHF) and for multiple maturities (overnight to 12 months).
